I've found a bug.
I'd like to use "<" and ">", but Quicktext directory writes charactor "<" in "templates.xml" file. So Quicktext misses in loading "templates.xml" file after TB restart.
(I'm using Quicktext 0.9.9.9, Thunderbird 2.0.0)

Will you add new function to use "&lt" and "&gt"?

Where do you use the <, > characters? Do you edit the file manually? Could you send me the templates.xml file?

No, I'm only using QuickText GUI.

I'd like to use "<File: >".
QuickText confuses <![CDATA]...">" and <File:...">".

The sample is shown below.

>
File

>
<File: [[CURSOR

> </text>
> </texts>

I'm aware of the problem. The problem is if you use "". I have got a tip how I could solve the problem and if that works it will be in the next version.

I'd like to be able to have works as well, it's very useful to do something like <[[CLIPBOARD for urls, because the <> around the url forces email readers to not break long links.

Found a workaround: create a new template that contains just one > character (I called mine "q|lt" meaning "less than"), and now you can do:

<[[CLIPBOARD]][[TEXT=q|lt]]

bypassing the limitation.
