I purchased a license for QT Pro more than a year ago. This entitled me to free upgrades for one year. During that year no upgrades were made, and to the best of my knowledge this is the first update to QT in a very long time. I am disappointed on two counts: 1. Nowhere on the site it is clear what are the "improvements" to QT Pro 0.9.9.0 2. Why doesn't customers who previously purchased a license for QT Pro get a discounted price, as is pretty much the norm? 9 Euro might not be a lot in Europe, but in a Third World country with a weak exchange rate it is a lot!! |
1. I will fix a change list but the big thing that changed is Thunderbird 3.0 and Postbox 1.1 support. And the only reason there was changes required was because of Mozilla changing APIs in Thunderbird 3.
2. I wanted a license that didn't require you to pay a license fee every year. So when you bought the a license you would now what you get. You got Quicktext in the current state and could use that forever. So you will know that you never have to pay again. The reason I added 1 year free updates was mostly because there wouldn't be people that bought the extension one day and an update was released the day after. About the a discount I haven't thought about really. It would mean that I need to implement it and you are the first one that asked about it. Please send me links so software that gives a discount and I will think about it. |
Thanks, sent it earlier today.
Just a remark: What you guys in Europe spend on a drink is adequate to provide a family in Africa with food for a day. |
