Hello, Hello Emil,
The keyboard modifiers do not work any more with the latest major version of Thunderbird (I am currently using the 3.1.3). I know this problem was already mentioned in June in the 'Support & Help' section, but we didn't have any reply on this topic. What's the status on this problem? Is this going to be fixed?
Thanks,
Stéphane

Same here.
Previous version worked smoothly for 1 year, including shortcuts.
Now no shortcut work. I tried changing from CTRL to ALT. I tried changing the number (1, 2, ...) I also tried the checkbox associated with CTRL, something like "Advanced mode for keyboard shortcuts". Doesn't change, doesn't work.
As a side note (other bug?), it shows "Example Alt+1" in the menu (Example is the template name), but the keys currently selected are CTRL. Even if I change CTRL to ALT (or reverse) it always change ALT+ as the shortcut in the menu.
Configuration: Win 7 64bits, French, Family Premium Thunderbird 3.1.3, French
Hoping that can help, and I'm available for any testing, whatever needed. Thanks for this marvelous extension, BTW ! |
Additional info - justed tested on the same TB but Win XP SP3, same problem, no shortcut work. |
Everything works fine for me in Thunderbird 3.1.4. I tested on Windows 7 using both Ctrl and Alt as modifier key and both advanced and simple mode. |
For more information, when I use CTRL+1 it gives the focus from the message window to the main TB window. As if TB was intercepting the shortcut(s). And same for 3.1.4 just upgraded.
@WizKid : do you also see "Example Alt+1" in the menu (Example is the template name), when the keys currently selected are CTRL? |
I am also using Thunderbird 3.1.4 with Quicktext 0.9.10.1, but on Windows 7 64 bits Ultimate. |
@stephane !
We could make tests here, and it appears that shortcuts continue NOT to work, BUT only on the 'keyboard' : shortcuts DO work using the Numpad !!
I've an ASUS X77V serie laptop, AZERTY, maybe it's related to Windows 7, maybe to Windows 7 French, or the laptop keyboard, who knows ;-)
2 things are sure, here: * regular numbers shortcuts in the Keyboard were working on TB 2 * they don't work here on TB 3, but using Numpad it works.
I do prefer the numbers on the keyboard as I can do the shortcut with 1 hand only, but say for now I'll use the 2 hands Numpad solution...
Thanks to all who helped! |
I do confirm that shortcuts with numbers from the numpad work. That's kind of funny :). |
Well, is there any update on this bug ? I do understand numpad numbers work but sometimes you don't have an easy access to such keys (like for example on notebooks). | 1 You need to login before posting in the forum |
