I downloaded the beta version (quicktext_0.9.11.0) and TB 6 won't install it. Error message: "Quicktext could not be installed because it is not compatible with Thunderbird 6.0."

Hi, I installed the version quicktext_0.9.11.1. Even though I can see TB 6 has installed it, the +alt shortcuts don't work anymore and I do not find any Quicktext menu in TB6 that would permit me to use it in standard mode.

depthhoar: View -> Quicktext to show the toolbar.

You can also change the modifier key in the settings.

I have bought Quicktext pro and downloaded 0.9.11.1. How do I install it in TB 6?

I changed the max version the install.rdf file to make Quicktext compatible with TB 6 but I have a problem...

The variables are not initialized.
Shortcuts no longer work but, the toolbar works.

Someone has a solution ? A new version ?

Quicktext version 0.9.11.1 fixes problems with TB 6

@Ormhaugen : Go to the Addons Tab and click on the button near the search textbox. You have a option to install xpi files

Installed 0.9.11.1 in TB6, after restarted TB6, TB recognised it was installed, but not in any menus. Clicking Tools->Add-ons->Extensions and then on Quicktext 0.9.11.1 entry, click on MORE shows it has been installed. Click on OPTIONS results in no windows being open, but I am unable now to click anywhere else in TB or even close TB. Seems like the options window didn't open but TB thinks it is.

This update on quicktext 0.9.11.1 doesn't work yet in TB6

A recent security update (8/15) To TB6 has once again disabled Quicktext and I have version 0.9.11.1 installed. Help! I rely heavily on this programs templartes for work.
Is there a solution yet? Thanks.

Version 0.9.11.1 works with Thunderbird 6.0.

If it doesn't work for you please contact me using the contact form on this page.

Make sure that you haven't installed an old version. And make sure to restart Thunderbird after you installed.

WhizKid: Version 0.9.11.1 USED to work with TB6 on Windows 7 -- until the recent (8/15) security update disabled it -- along with two other add-ons. Two more add-ons weren't disabled.
I just tried re-installing it -- only to get message saying "QuickText could not be installed because it is not compatible with Thunderbird 6".
Help? Thanks.

Thunderbird 6.0 was released the 8/16 according to http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/6.0/releasenotes/ and that was also the date when I started to get mail about 6.0 support.

I released 0.9.11.1 the 8/16 so I don't understand how it could have worked before 8/15.

0.9.11.1 works with Thunderbird 6.0 on Windows 7. I run exactly that combination.

So make sure that you are trying to install 0.9.11.1 and not something else.

WhizKid: You're right; I'm wrong. I was trying to reinstall 0.9.11.0.
Version 0.9.11.1 DOES work with TB6. Thanks. Keep up the good work.

Do we really need to pay in order to get from 9.10.3 to 9.11.1? It seems the only reason we have to upgrade is to be compatible with the latest Thunderbird versions but we don't get any new features.

I guess you are talking about Quicktext Pro? Because Quicktext is free.

When it comes to Quicktext Pro a license gives you free updates for one year. So if you bought Quicktext Pro for more then a year ago you need to buy a new license.

You are also free to continue to use 0.9.10.3 for as long as you want.

And the new feature in 0.9.11.1 is Thunderbird 6 support. If you want to I have no problem with you taking the 0.9.10.3 version you have and updating it your self to support Thunderbird 6 and continue to use it.

If it only was bumping the max version I would probably given it for free but now it wasn't. Mozilla changed a lot of stuff which made me have to do a lot of changes.
