as distributed by the author,
Quicktext 0.9.11.2 is not permited to install under TB8
Warning - do NOT override that safety test
Quicktext 0.9.11.2 created bugs in TB8 on my system
What I did:
unpacked the .xpi file,
edited install.rdf to increase max version to 8.* so it would install with TB8
Result - problems:
a) Unified Inbox tab name becomes blank,
and can not access email messages
b) Menu strip "Help" button disappeared
(but is present under the WRITE sub-menu)
The last menu strip button is Tools
Using Alt/F and right-arrow to cycle thru the menus
the "Help" is truly gone, it cycles from "Tools" to "File"
Confirmation
Used the TB8 Add-ons manager to Remove Quicktext
and the problems disappeared
Reinstalled Quicktext, the problems re-occured
Removed Quicktext, the problems disappeared again and TB8 works correctly
Conclusion
Quicktext must be changed to work with TB8
With regret, because I love Quicktext and also TB8
Environment:
Windows Vista, 32-bit, all current patches as of 9-Nov-2011
