I use the alt-148 etc to insert extended characters. But it also fires off the quicktext which I don't think it should. I think you should
distinguish "1" and "numpad1".

You can change the alt-button to something else if you want to in the Settings window (if I remember correctly).

This bug still persists. Even when I just type an extended charater e.g. éö an email it expands to one of the quicktexts I've setup. Its annoying is it really that hard to fix? I've had to resort to a AutoHotkey script as a workaround as it pasting from the clipboard is the only way to resolve it

ClipboardSave:=ClipboardAll
Clipboard=é
Send ^v
Clipboard:=ClipboardSave
ClipboardSave=
Return

Changing default behavior (alt-numpad) is not a solution in my opinion

So you use the Alt + number to insert template in Quicktext?
Hugov2010-01-28 19:25:37
I've setup various quicktexts, a few of them assigned to alt-1 alt-2 alt-3 etc I use the regular 1 2 3 above the letters not the numpad 1 2 3 to insert quicktext

Quite frequently I have to use extended charaters umlaut, accent grave etc in names and titles which I type by alt-numpad (alt-123 on numpad)

It inserts the extended character as it should but also fires the alt-1 quicktext which is very annoying. It should be possible to distinguish between numpad and regular 1

Running TB3.01 + latest QT version (but it has been a bug for years) winxp sp3, US Keyboard.

The reason is that there are people using Alt + numbers on the num pad so I can't just disable it. I would suggest that you change Alt to another modifier so it doesn't is in the way for you.
