Will this feature ever be added?

You can. There exists a Subject field where you can put what you want to be inserted in the subject.

[[SUBJECT]] *gets* the subject.
How do you set it with Quicktext?

Use the Subject-field in the settings view. Write what you want the subject to be in there.

Using the Subject field for a given body-text template is only half of the answer. I suspect that what is originally being requested is for QT to recognize and expand template keywords _in_ the message's subject line itself.

Thus, if I'm typing a subject line for an email, and enter:

Subject: mySubjKwd<TAB>

I'd expect "mySubjKwd" to expand into whatever (one-line) text for that template:

Subject: This is my custom subject line for that keyword! Hooray!

In other words, rather than having a single, fixed subject text available and dependent upon the template expanded for the body of the email message, it'd be great to have a whole library/repertory of custom-built subject lines which could be invoked/expanded based on template keywords recognized in the subject line as typed and expanded by <TAB>. A whole 'nuther thing entirely. Thanks!
