My favorite mailclient ist Postbox and I was glad to see that Quicktext is now working with it but it seems that there is a problem with using QT.
Everytime I want to use [[TO=lastname]] I get something like "John Doe" as a result. If I use [[TO=firstname]] I'll get "Companyname" as a result.
The Addressbook fields are filled as following: First Name: John Last Name: Doe Display Name: Companyname John Doe
In Thunderbird 3 it's working as it should. I hope you could help me. |
You are sure that the email address don't exists in more then one address book? |
Yes, there is only one address book.
It seems it's looking in the display name field and getting from there the first part for the firstname an the rest for the lastname. |
What do you see in the To-field when you compose the email? Does it say like "Companyname John Doe <email@address.com>" or "John Doe, Companyname <email@address.com>" |
it's "Companyname John Doe <email@address.com>" |
Ok, then the reason is that Quicktext don't find the email address in the address book. Why that is I don't know. You are sure that the email address in the address book is the same as in the To-field? |
Yes, I'm sure because I got the email address right out of the addressbook.
I'm using Postbox 1.1 and Quicktext 0.9.10.1 on Mac OSX Snow Leopard. (Same Problems were also with QT 0.9.10.0) |
Did you found anything out yet? |
I've been on vacation so I haven't looked into it yet. |
Sorry, if I'm annoying, but this bug is annoying me. |
Great support, thanks! I fixed it myself with some changes in the file wzQuicktextVar.js | 1 You need to login before posting in the forum |
