I saved the quicktext version by 5xi then chose install from a file on the add-ons manger. The install box came up, but it is not in T-bird. What did I do wrong?

@tkasie... Download the XPI file s/he provided. Open Add-Ons (under Tools); click on the gear icon. Go to "install add-on from file," use that xpi file, and you should be (or at least I hope you will be) good to go.

Hi . I just used the PKZIP remedy. Thanks to all for suggestions. This is great extension and once you have used it for a while it is indispensable. I hope Emil is well as he would normally make such a fix very quickly?
